1. Booking your lessons
NextPass Driving School is operated by NextPass Driving School Ltd, company number 17380679, registered in England and Wales. You can find our contact details on the Company Information page.
You can enquire by phone, email or through our website. To book online, choose your package, tell us your lesson preferences and pay the amount shown at checkout. After payment, complete your booking details so we can contact you.
Your receipt confirms your payment. Your instructor, lesson dates and pickup point still need to be agreed. Availability depends on your area, gearbox and preferred times. If we cannot provide the booking, we will discuss alternatives with you or arrange the appropriate refund under section 2.
Independent instructors and introductions
If we do not have availability or you are outside our current catchment area, we may introduce you to an independent instructor.
If you have not paid NextPass for the lessons: you and the instructor arrange the lessons and payment directly. Agree the price, times, pickup point and cancellation terms with them. The instructor is responsible for the lessons and payments they receive. NextPass’s role is the introduction and any further support we agree to provide; we remain responsible for our own service and promises.
If you have paid NextPass: we remain responsible for the booking services and payments we have agreed to handle. Working with an independent instructor, or paying your remaining balance to them, does not remove responsibilities that NextPass has to you.
2. Cancellations and refunds
2.1 Tell us as early as possible
If you need to cancel or move a lesson, contact NextPass or your instructor as early as possible. This gives us the best chance of rearranging the lesson or offering the time to another learner. A replacement time must be agreed; sending a request does not confirm a new appointment.
If you arranged your lessons directly with an introduced instructor and have not paid NextPass, contact that instructor and follow the cancellation terms you agreed with them.
2.2 Missed lessons and late cancellations
If you miss a booked lesson, or cancel too late for the instructor to reasonably fill your booked time, you will be charged the full agreed price of that lesson. If the lesson was prepaid, it is deducted from your booking. Otherwise, the outstanding lesson payment is due. Any amount already paid towards that lesson counts towards the charge.
2.3 Booking deposits
Your deposit counts towards the package price. If you cancel before your first agreed lesson or course starts and give at least 48 hours’ notice, we will refund your deposit. If no start time has been agreed, contact us to cancel; the 48-hour notice period does not apply to a time that was never confirmed. This deposit promise is separate from the 14-day cancellation period for online and phone bookings in section 2.6.
2.4 Package refunds after lessons start
Once the first lesson in a package has taken place, you can request a refund for unused lessons up to one month from that first lesson. We deduct the agreed package price of lessons already taken and refund the remaining amount paid for the package. This applies to packages booked through NextPass online or by phone, including where the package balance is paid to the instructor as part of that booking.
After that one-month period, we do not refund unused lessons. The remaining lessons stay available for you to complete by arranging suitable times with your instructor. Separate lessons or packages you arrange and pay for privately with an instructor are not covered by this refund policy.
2.5 If we or your instructor cancel
If we or your instructor cancel a lesson, you will not be charged a customer-cancellation fee. We will discuss another time or instructor with you. You do not have to accept a different gearbox or a significantly different arrangement.
If NextPass cannot provide your booking or its remaining lessons, we will refund money we hold for services not provided. You do not have to accept credit instead of a refund you are entitled to. For payments made directly to an instructor under a separate lesson agreement, contact that instructor about their refund obligations.
2.6 14-day cancellation period for online and phone bookings
You can cancel an online or phone booking within 14 days from the day after the booking contract is agreed. This period is separate from both the 48-hour deposit promise and the one-month package-refund period. It does not end just because we have processed your booking or your first lesson has started.
If you ask us to start lessons during those 14 days and then cancel within that period, we may charge for lessons already provided only if you separately asked us to start early and acknowledged beforehand that a charge could apply. We will refund any remaining amount paid for the package. The 14-day cancellation period can end early only after all booked lessons have been provided, and only if you asked us to start early and acknowledged this before lessons began.
If you cancel within the 14-day period before any lesson has started, we will refund the amount paid for the booking. If we have not given you the required cancellation information, the cancellation period may be extended.
2.7 How to cancel or ask for a refund
Email info@nextpassdrivingschool.co.uk or use our Contact page. Include your name, the booking and what you want to cancel. For a 14-day cancellation, send us a clear message before the period ends; you do not have to use the sample message below. We will return any refund due to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving your cancellation request.
This policy covers packages booked through NextPass, including a package balance paid to your instructor as part of that booking. If you make a separate arrangement directly with an instructor and pay them directly, agree the cancellation and refund terms with that instructor; this policy does not cover that separate arrangement.
A simple cancellation message
To NextPass Driving School Ltd, at info@nextpassdrivingschool.co.uk:
I would like to cancel my booking for [lesson or package], ordered on [date].
My name: [name]. My address: [address].
Booking reference, if known: [reference]. Date: [date].
If sending this on paper, please sign it.
3. Prices and payments
Check the package total and the amount due before paying. A “from” price can depend on your area, so contact us to check availability of the starting rate. We cannot simply increase an agreed booking price after you have paid. Extra lessons or services must be agreed separately.
- Single lesson: the online option takes a £30 deposit towards the £35 total.
- Five- and ten-lesson blocks: a £50 deposit goes towards the displayed package total.
- Intensive courses: pay the £250 deposit or, where offered, the full course price online.
For deposit bookings, pay the remaining balance directly to your instructor at your first lesson, or at your single lesson. If you paid the full course price online, no further tuition payment is due for the included hours. Keep your payment receipts.
Online payments go through Stripe. Available methods, including Klarna where offered, are shown at checkout. Klarna has its own payment schedule and terms. Contact us about a booking or refund issue, and your payment provider where relevant. NextPass does not store your card details.
4. Your instructor
We work with independent and partner instructors. They are responsible for safe tuition and holding the permission and insurance needed to teach. NextPass remains responsible for the services and promises it takes on, as explained in section 1.
Agree lesson times, duration and pickup points with your instructor. If your instructor cannot continue, contact us about a NextPass booking so we can discuss an alternative. A particular replacement instructor or timetable cannot be guaranteed. Section 2 explains your options if we cannot provide the booking.
5. Your responsibilities
You must hold a valid provisional or full licence, as appropriate, and be legally entitled to drive the vehicle used. Be ready to show your licence and meet the eyesight and medical requirements for driving.
Tell your instructor about anything that could affect safe tuition, including relevant medication or health needs. Discuss any adjustments or support you need. Do not attend if alcohol, drugs, medication, illness or tiredness make you unfit to drive.
Be ready at the agreed pickup point on time. Instructors will wait up to 10 minutes; after that, they may treat the lesson as missed under section 2.2. Being late does not automatically extend your lesson’s finish time.
Be respectful towards your instructor and other road users, and follow lawful, reasonable safety instructions. An instructor may stop or refuse a lesson because of abusive, threatening or unsafe behaviour.
6. Vehicles and safety
Training vehicles must be roadworthy and properly insured for driving tuition. Instructors are responsible for vehicles they provide; NextPass remains responsible for any vehicle commitments it makes.
An instructor can stop or refuse a lesson if driving would be unsafe or unlawful, including concerns about your licence, fitness to drive, the vehicle or road conditions. They should explain the reason where possible. Any payment or refund issue is dealt with under section 2.
7. Intensive courses and driving tests
Intensive courses provide the advertised tuition hours. Agree the schedule with your instructor. The pace depends on your experience, learning needs and availability. A course does not guarantee a particular completion date, test date or pass. Extra tuition must be agreed and priced separately.
DVSA controls test availability and its own test-fee cancellation rules. Check your package and booking agreement for any test fees, booking help or test-day car use included. Buying tuition hours does not, by itself, include those extras. Check your instructor and car will be available before relying on them for a test appointment.
Your instructor can reasonably refuse use of their car for a test if you are not driving safely enough, are not legally eligible, or the vehicle cannot safely or lawfully be used. The decision should be based on safety and your driving ability, and explained to you.
If DVSA changes or cancels your test, contact your instructor to discuss any affected lessons or car arrangements. Your tuition payments remain covered by these terms and your consumer rights.
8. Problems and complaints
If something is wrong, please tell us. Email complaints@nextpassdrivingschool.co.uk with your contact details, booking information and what happened. Our Complaints Procedure explains how we review concerns.
For a separate agreement with an introduced instructor, contact them about their lessons or payments too. We will still deal with any complaint about NextPass’s own service or promises.
Lessons must be delivered with reasonable care and skill and match binding information given about them. Depending on the problem, the law may entitle you to have the service put right or to a price reduction or refund. You can seek independent advice, use any available payment-provider rights or take a claim to a court you are entitled to use.
9. Our responsibilities
We are responsible for our own services and promises, and for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of contract or negligence. Working with independent instructors does not remove any responsibility the law places on NextPass.
Nothing in these terms limits responsibility for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Illness, breakdowns, severe weather or road disruption may affect lessons. We will take reasonable steps to let you know and discuss alternatives. These events do not remove your rights to a refund or other remedy where the law gives you one.
10. Your information
We use your details to answer enquiries, handle bookings and arrange lessons. Relevant booking information may be shared with your instructor. Our Privacy & Cookie Policy explains how we handle your information and your cookie choices.
11. About these terms
Read these terms and your package details before booking, and keep a copy. The website asks you to accept the terms before continuing to payment. This does not take away your consumer rights.
We may revise the terms for future bookings. New wording does not automatically change the price, refund rights or other terms of a booking already agreed. Any change to an existing booking must have a lawful basis and your agreement where required.
